NEW PLYMOUTH v. FITZROY. Yesterday morning there was a match at Fitzroy between New Plymouth and Fitzroy, the visitors being defeated by seven points after a keen contest, H. Smart, who only scored on eight heads out of 21, was only 8 to 18 on the eighteenth head, but on the two following heads secured four at each. Fookes secured a five on his tenth head, but failed to score at s>ny of the last eight heads. A. K. Smart obtained two fives. Details of scores are as follow, New Plymouth being mentioned first:—

In the afternoon a return matftr was played on the town green, when New Plymouth defeated the visitors at every rink, and in the aggregate by .141 to 101. Up to the tea adjournment the scores were fairly close, but thereafter New 'Plymouth went'ahead and kept the lead, being 40 to the good at the twenty-fifth head.
