BOWLING.
ST. JOHN'S V. FITZROY. Five rinks of St. John's (Wanganui) bowlers,, who are making a holiday tour in Taranaki, played Fitzroy on Saturday morning, and after a keen contest won by two points, chiefly owing to the excellent play of Armstrong. At the conclusion of play the visitors, sang their song of friendship, to which Mr. Jackson replied on behalf of theEitzroy Club, after which cheers were exchanged. On Saturday afternoon the St.-John's touring bowlers • played New Plymouth and were defeated by 130 to 98. For the visitors Gallatly- and Simpson went down badly, the former failing to score until the twelfth head, when "his opponet was 21 up. At the close of play the usual courtesies were exchanged.
