i THE TOKO CLUB. ' j 'At the annual general meeting ot tne Toko Football Club, the balance-sheet showed the receipts to be £l7 6s lli, and the expenditure £lO lis Sd The report showed the number of paidup members for the season was fifty-three,-against eighty-three for the previous season. Matches played, five, won two, drawn two, lost one; points scored thirty-two; against twenty-three. Since the last annual meeting, four much esteemed and. highly respected members had passed away, viz: Geo. Cleavy, Manly Marfell, and Terry Foley, who had most gallantly given their live 9 for King and Country on world-famed Gallipoli, and Trevor Marfell had been accidentally Hilled near his farm in the Whangamomona district. The fallowing members had enlisted during the year: Captain J. B. Hine, M.P. (Patron), Mr. Chas. Bayly (Vice-president) who went to England and obtained a commission in the Exeter Yemenary, C»rporal Clif. Mather (Club Captain), Messrs. Gee. Corbett, Alex. Reid, Frank Marfell, Harry Evans, Frank St. George, J. E. Grainger, Arthur Inglis, Len. Roberts, Sergt. Chas. Fincham, and Joe Caskey. Messrs. Alex. Ferguson, Geo. Morrism, and Gordon Mather, have been passed as medically fit, and are now waiting their turn to be called up, thus fetching up the total of enlisted club members for the two seasons to twenty-six. A discussion took place as to whether it was advisable to keep the Cluft alive owing to so many of the active members having enlisted. It was ultimately decided to keep the Club in existence in order to encourage the younger players under the military age, and the following officers were all re-elected:—Patron: Captain J. B.' Hine, M.P.; president: Mr. A. A. Piper; vice-presidents: Messrs. W. H. Were, Chas, Bayly, Goo. Morrison, H. Gcrnhoefer, and Evan .Tones; delegates to the Sub-Union: Messrs. A. A. Piper and Geo. Morrison; management committee: Messrs. Alex. Ferguson, ,T. | Kilpatrick, M. Gemhoefer, G. E. Bocock, and a fifth member to be appointed later; hon. auditor: Mr. Geo. Morrison; hon. sec. and treasurer: Mr. R. D. Milne. The election of Selection Csmmittee, Captain and Vice-captain was heli over until the opening of the season. —Post.
