A FURTHER ADVANCE. BY GENERAL LAKE'S FORCES, Wellington, Yesterday. The Higli Commissioner reports from London, under date April 10, 8.10 p.m.: In Mesopotamia, General Lake reports that on Friday a heavy gale blew all day. On Saturday the British made gradual, but steady progres son • the right bank of the river. The enemy's ad- ' vanced lines were driven in and the space occupied. The nomy left many (" "Ul and a considerable number of prisoners in the captured trenches. GENERAL LAKE'S REPORT. Received April 17, 7 p.m. London, April 18. The Press Bureau states: General Lake reports a heavy gale and rain on Friday, but the troops gradually made steady progress on the right tank on Satuplny. In fine but lmzy weather we drove in and occupied the eneipy&' advanced lines, and found many dead. A considerable number of prisoners were taptured in the trenches. l
