EASTER HOLIDAYS.
ATTRACTIONS IX TARANAIU. The Easter holidays commence tliis week on Good Friday, and a cessation of business will lie general until Wednesday of next week. Banks, fiovernment offices and many professions will close for this period, but retail business will be resumed on Saturday and :>n Tuesday morning. This year an extension of the holiday season is brought about by the-fact that Anzae Day falls on Easter Tuesday, and the occasion will be marked by a half-holiday from 1 p.m. There will be many attractions for holiday-makers in Taranaki. Mount ;Egmont always offers a pleasant resort at. Easter, and the demand for accommodation has been great. The Taranaki golf championship tournament will open at Waiwakaiho on Saturday, and will continje on Holiday and Tuesday morning. On Monday the W-aimate '"trots'' will attract the sporting community to Hawera, while those who desire to spend tile day at the seaside will find ample inducement in the carnivals to be held at Kawaroa Park and at East End. Stratford is also providing a strong attraction with "Soldiers' Day" on Easter Monday. A half-holiday will be observed throughout Taranaki on Tuesday to commemorate the landing of the "Anzacs"' 011 flalipoli Peninsula. Memorial services will be held in the afternoon, and patriotic functions will take place in the evening. Travellers to Auckland should note an alteration in the running of the Ranuva, She W'ill leave Onehunga to-morrow, arriving at Xew IPlymouth 011 Thursday instead'of Friday, and will return north 011 Thursday night.
