ALLOWANCES TO DATF,_ ,»'By Associate:. - Wellington, Last Niglit. Pensions and allowances granted by the War Pensions Board to date represent an annual liability of abou> ■ £OO,OOO. Applications from soldiers and dependents are being received at the into of over one hundred weekly, Up till last Saturday the Board had received SBO applications from soldiers, and 702 from dependents. The Board's decisions ffere:— Soldiers: 304' pensions, 357 allowances, !)2 declined, 21 adjourned, 82 in hand. Dependents: 591 pensions, 11 allowances, 52 declined, 6 adjourned, 42 in hand. (Pensions authorised represent an annual charge of £40,770, including 304 soldiers, whose' annual charge is £10,004 (average £52), 118 wives with children, £10,570 ( CSO); 473 other dependents, £14.119 i C3O).
