'PAYMENTS MAW. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.. Hon. A. M. flyers, Minister for Pensions, furnisltc'3 the following figures (luring the financial year ended March 31. Gross payments under the Pensions Act amounted to £563,960, an increase of £23,91!) on the previous year.. The total was made up as follows:—Old age pensions £479,339, widows' £36,357, military £48.273. The .pensions in force at March 31 were:—Old age 10.800, an increase of 460; widows, 1905, an increase of 117; military 1323, a decrease of 65. , The amount paid under the Miners' l-ensions Act, which camp into force during the year, was £I4OB, on account of 120 pensioners, representing an annual liability of £5445.
