COALMINERS' DIFFICULTIES.
CRITICAL POSITION IN NEW SOUTH WALES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received April 9, 11 p.m. i Melbourne,-April 9. The embargo on the export of coal has rendered idle many minors in the Newcastle and Maithwd districts. A deputation r<presenting the Miners' Federation informed the Federal treasurer that the position is critical, and asked for linancal assistance. It is stated that some men have threatened that unless help is forthcoming all miners will be called out. Mr. Higgs has promised to give the matter consideration.
