MONARCHY CANCELLED By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, March 31. The Consul-General for China has received a mandate from Yuan-Shih-Kai authorising him to announce that the monarchy is cancelled. YUAN'S RESIGNATION DEMANDED. Tokio, March 31. Yuan-Shih-Kai's resignation is regarded as imminent. The South demands it as a sine qua non for the restoration of peace. Li-Yuan-Hung will probably succeed him.
