" " Received March 24, 11.40 p.m. Ottawa, March 24, The Minister of Finance stated that shell contracts for £5,400,000 have been let during the past fortnight by the Imperial Munitions Board, as a result of substantial credits established for the Imperial Treasury by Canadian banks. The war is costing Canada £2,400,000 monthly, irrespective of the Dominion's share in the Imperial expenditure on rations and equipment of the troops overseas. ' *
