The Times' correspondent says it is officially denied that Herlin is preparing to uso the good oflices of Washington for peace negotiations. Nevertheless, it is generally believed that there is something iin the latest "feelers," but Germany lm& chosen a singularly bad time, and Col. House has apparently told President Wilson that the Allies are more determined than ever to see the war through, MR. ROOSEVELT'S BOOK. AN ATTACK OX AMERICA'S POLW. Times and Sydney Sun Services. Received March 24, 5.5 p.m. London, March 23. Mr. Roosevelt's new booh, "Fear God, and Take Your Own Part," will be published on Thursday. He attacks "hyphenBled Americanism" and national emasculation, and licenses the President of failure to stand up for the Belgians, avenge the Lusi'tania, and punish the Mexican outrages. . Mr. Roosevelt charges the German-Americans with opposing America's defence programme, thus wanting in turn a larger Belgium which would he an easy prey whenever Germany desires to seize it.
