TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

ORDINARY MEETING. T-!io. monthly meeting was held at the District Land? Office, New Plymouth, yesterday. Present: .Messrs C. 11. Builard (Commissioner), C. J. Ryan, J. Heslon and J. W. H. Martin. CORRESPONDENCE AND MISCELLANEOUS. The Under-Secretary for Lands, Wellington, forwarded notification of the appointment of Mr. Jas. W. H. Martin as a member of the Board. —Received, and the chairman and other members welcomed Mr. Martin. 1 Mr. Arthur Coxhoad wrote intimating j that he had forwarded his resignation to the Minister of Lands, owing to his departure from the district for a protracted period, and conveying to the members of the Board and the office staff his thanks for and appreciation of the courtesy always extended to him whilst associated with the Board and the office. —Received, and the Board decided to record a minute expressing their regret at Mr. Coxhead's retirement and appre-ciatio-i of i.is scrvh'i'S on the Board in the past. H. A. Watcrson. lessee of E.L. section 5, block 5, Pouatu, 1125 acres, was granted twelve months' extension of time to effect improvements, as he is absent with the Expeditionary Forces. A. R. Edward Circen. lessee of section 4. block 1, Ma para, GOO acres, was granted 12 months' extension of time to effect improvements and exemption from residence, as he is absent with the Expeditionary Forces. A. J. Woolston, licensee of section 11, block 2, Tangitu, 382 acres, was granted twelve months' exemption from rcsiimprovements, as he is absent with the Expeditionary Forces. Messrs. Hussey and Ongloy, solicitors, wrote appealing against the forfeiture of section 10, block I, Rangi. 45S acres, (H. E. Troy, transferee P. J. Murphy).— Resolved to rescind former resolution of forfeiture, the Board to consider an application for transfer from Mr. Murphy te an approved transferee. Mrs E. Ouiirtormnn, selector of R.L. section 2, block 12. Ware, oil acres, applied to surrender tlie section.—Accepted, the deposit monies to he forfeited.

Mrs. Jane Wcyburne. lessee of U.K. section, part. 10, Manganui district, 52 aere s 2 roods, wrote asking the Board to determine the royalty payable to the Crown for metal to he removed from the land.—The royalty was fixed at half the amount received, but not to he less than 3d per cubic yard. The Revaluation Committee appointed under section 15 of the Land Act, BUS, submitted their report and valuation in the case of O.R.P. section 2fi, block 11.
