• KILLED BY A TRAM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, March 19. Thomas William Rees, employed as a steward on .the steamer Maori for the past fortnight, was struck bv a tramcar last nigltt near the Post Offie.?, and was killed instantly. Deceased, who was about thirty-six years old, was a son of a clergyman in Pembrokeshire, and formerly spent some time in Ame rica. FOUND DEAD. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Napier Yesterday. Following Is the police description of ft stranger who was found dead in the Municipal bathhouse this morning: Age (SO, height sft. Bin., strongly bui?t, crisp grey curly hair, nead bald 'on top, wearing dark coat and vest, and light trousers, brown felt hat. All clothing is old, and in one pocket was a pair of spectacles, stamped ''Weber, Optician." THREE DEATHS NEAR GISBORNE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Yesterday. Tokomaru Bay reports two deaths from drowning. A Maori girl, aged 14, was attempting to cross a swollen, creek and became entangled in driftwood and was drowned. Charles Bramwell, bookkeeper for the Tokomaru Bay Farmers' Co-operativo Company, aged 32, unmarried, was swept out to sea while bathing. . Waipiro Bay reports that Robert Armstrong, an elderly man, was found dead on the Toadside. The verdict at the inquest was that death was due to natural causes accelerated by ex-
