(From Our Own Correspondent) Inglewood, Friday. It ia rumored that a case of infantile palysis 'lias been reported from the district. The leeal religious bodies have evidently done good business in connection with their harvest festivals. The Methedists' takings amounted to about £32, and ,the Salvation Army a similar amount. Dr. Valintine is spending a short holiday in Inglewood with liis wife and family. The Red Cross Hart is to be open for business again to-day (Saturday), when the ladies will be pleased to receive gifts of anything saleable. The representatives of the Stratford and New. Plymouth Technical Schools played a cricket match on the local grounds yesterday afternoon, when Stratford won by something like HO runs.

The patriotic cricket match duly eventuated on Thursday Tdeai weather prevailed, and a most enjoyaole and successful afternoon was spent. The bat kindly donated by Mr. Basel realised £2 10s, gate £2 2s (Id. afternoon tea £.i 9s Gd, fines £fi 17s fid—total, £lB IPs. The performance went with a swing from lieginning to end, and reflects great credit on the organiser and his performers. Each item was well received, and there ,was a plentiful supply. Such well-known performers as Miss Peart and Mrs. BirchJohnston were in good form, and others who were making their debut to an Inglewood audience, namely, Missos M, Thomson, J. Bennett and Oliver, acquitted themselves very well indeed, and Mr. Lints was at the top of his form. The proceeds, which amounted to about £3O, were handed over to the loral Patriotic Committee for the local Wounded Soldeirs Fund.
