SHACKLE TON EXPECTED AT HOSART. By Cable.—Press Association—C#pyright Received March 15, 9.50 p.m. Sydney, March 15. The Herald, replying to Sir Ernest Shackleton's statement, "Departing, look for us beginning March," expects the nrrival of the expedition at Hobart any day.
ARRANGEMENTS TO RETURN. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Night. News of Sir Ernest Shackleton should bo received in New Zealand during the present month. The explorer and his companions intended to leave their base on the Wcddell Sea coastline late in October of last year, and if all went well, they should have completed the crossing at McMurdo Sound about the end of last month. The Aurora, the ship used by Dr. Maws,m, was to be waiting for them there anil would bring them to New Zealand. The enterprise was the most hazardous vet undertaken in the Antarctic regions.
