WOOLLEN MILLS WORKERS.

rROUBLE AT WELLINGTON. By Tolegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. Members of the Wellington Woollen Mills Employees Union have further considered the question of an increase of wajjes. The workers have asked for a ten per cent, all round increase and the company offered five per cent, for the future, with a bonus representing five per cent, 011 wages earned for that portion of the year just passed. The Hon. Mr. Myers attended a meeting last night by invitation, and addressed tile workers to-day. The greater number of employees gave notice in writing of their intention to cease work within seven days. It is understood that a further conference between the parties may be arranged, witk the Minister as arbitrator. By the men's action some 200 employees, mostly resident in Petone, will be affected. The directors of the Company were to meet this afternoon, and the question of work at the mills was to receive consideration.
