FETE OF NATIONS. Another large and appreciative audience witnessed the Fete of Nations at the Theatre Royal on Saturday night, and this spectacular entertainment went with remarkable verve »nd precision. Several now items were introduced, and Mrs. Birch-,Tohnaton and Misg Peart scored iieavily in their different numbers. The various tableaux and dances were, capitably executed, and the work of the orchestra is a subject for warm praise. A clever whistling solo by Private Cooke was well received. The matinee' on Saturday afternoon was fairly well attended. Anion# the new items to be included in to-night's programme will be an exhibition of the Jatest Hesitation Waltz, which is always a favorite dance. The Grand Empire flsff inarch, in which Miss Peart is soloist, is another very spectacular item. The Masquerador is an item in which Mr, Lints appears as a skeleton, introducing the waltz clog with skates en an electric taHe, For this number Mrai Birch-Johnston does the dialogue, and also introduces her telephone novelty, ''All Alone." The Argentine Schottische will also be danced. Another comedy item will lie "By The Lisht of The Sil t very Moan," which was so well received on last Saturday's programme. • EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. A specially «ood programme esabrae- '•"£ several staT features commenced at the Empire Picture Palace on Saturday. The building presented an animated appearance, and in the evening many intending patrons were unable to gain admission. A fine film presents tlife tenth episode of the adventures of Florence Hargreaves, the daughter of the millionaire. Tiie last'adventure leaves Florence at a little, fishing village, where, deprived of her reason, she is tended by an old fisherman and his wife. Norton is distracted, and, together with the butler, leaves to seek evidence against the conspirators. He is captured and placed on board a sailor. Braine then disguises himself aB Hargreaves and kidnaps Florence, taking her away in a launch. The launch is burned, and the party is rescued by the very ship to which Jim Norton has been abducted. The young reporter then uses liis ingenuity, and by a daring ruse escapes, taking Florence with hiiu. "And Hour of Freedom" tells of a society man and a saciety iass'who are engaged. They become surfeited with ceremony, and each decide on an hour of freedom. They meet and have a hasty, but quiet, marriage. "Nearly a Prizefighter" is a rattling good comedy, depicting Billy Heeves, the prominent music hall artist, in one of his most pleasing roles. Interspersed in this exceptional programme there are several real gems of the movie-man's art, one of them being a study of a chimpanzee of more than average intelligence. A good budget of most interesting topical evqntp, is pictured by the "Gaumont Gazette." The programme will be presented to-night for the last time.
