ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
I PICNIC TRAIN MISHAP By Telegraph.—Presg Association Christchurcli, March 2, A train conveying the Lyttelton Mltrict High School picnic to Amberlejr met with n mishap at Addington this morning. ' The engine ran off 'the line, and overturned. The van behind was smashed, but the carriages were not derailed. One child was threwn out of v a carriage window, but was not injured. The driver and stoker jumped clear. The children were transferred to an* other train. BOATING ACCIDENT, Invarcargill, Marcfc t, Edward Waters, Joseph Scotland, and Alexander Cameron are missing ■ from Queenstown. They were last ften on Monday night attempting to cross th» Kawarau river in a boat, which has bam bound Ave miles down-stream, botttte -up, The men are belteved.to ha»» bee* drowned. .STRUCK BY A MOTOR.
