"FIGHTING MEN FIRST."

To the Editor. Sir, —Daily a cry—almost a prayer—is repeated by everyone in New Zealand. ''What can I do to help in the great national struggle for freedom ?" There is work for all ,and everyone can do some national service voluntarily. No person is too old, and none too young. The Xation.il Service League is founded to suggest means and ways to help our returned men to help themselves. The patriotic societies are doing grand work, and will continue to do so. But what personal service are you giving? There is no monopoly in kind actions or words. Do all you can when you get the chance. Mr. Editor, in a few days we would like to tell the boys of Xey Zealand what they can do.—l am, etc., F. NORMS. Hon. Organiser, National Service League (Incorporated), Masterton.
