PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. The following promotions and transfers in the higher grades of the Police Force were announced to-day:— Senior-Sergeant Mullany, Lambton Quay station, Wellington, has been promoted to sub-inspector as from Jlareh 1 and is transferred to Christehureh. Sub-Tnspeetor Hastie, now stationed at Christehurcli, is transferred to Tiriiaru to fill a vacancy there. Sergeant Charles Bowden, New Plymouth, is promoted to the rank of senior sergeant as from March 1, and will remain st New Plymouth. Senior-Sergeant A. T. Emerson, of Ashburton, is transferred to Lambton Quay station, vice Sub-Inspector Mullany. Senior-Sergeant P. Ryan, of Lyttelton ,is transferred to Ashburton to replace Senior-Sergeant Emersoa.
