TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
ORDINARY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held at New Plymouth yesterday, when there were present: 'Messrs C, H. Crown Lands Ranger Meredith forwarded report on improvements on section 5, block C, Mahoe, a forfeited section.—Resolved to re-open the land, I weighted with £4O, valuation for improvements at date. H. J. G. Hills, lessee of section 4, block 7, Waro, applied to have the section forfeited.—Adjourned. It was proposed to approve amendment of area of section 57, block 1, Mahoe, consequent on land taken for Strat-ford-Okahukura railway. R. H. Hughes, lessee of sections 5 and 0 block 4, Opaku, applied for leave of absence, as he had enlisted for active service.—Twelve months' exemption granted. S. A. Mair applied to purchase a strip of section 2, block 3, Tangitu. one chain wide, for road access to adjoining land. --Recommended, at £5 capital value, applicant to provide plan of'survey and ,afiorwards dedicate the area as a public, road. v It was proposed to approve of the dishnrsement of improvement monies on section 33 and 34, block 2, Piopiotea West, and sections "7, 41 and 42, Aria suburban, in terms of section 74 of the Land Act, 1908. The Receiver of Land Revenue was authorised to act. The Board, in committee, dealt with four applications for consent to mortgage at current rates of interest, also five applications for postponement of collection of rent for varying periods ; at •1 per cent, interest, and made the usual recommendations in each instance. The Board confirmed the action of the chairman and Mr. C. ,T. Ryan' (member of the Board) in connection with the applications and ballot at Taumar'unui for lands opened there for selection on January 21 last.
