"TRICOLOR DAY" ON SATURDAY. •PATRIOTIC" FISH MART.* Arrangements are well forward ■ for the street and house-to-house collection in New Plymouth on Saturday in aid of the French Red Cross. A large number of ladies have offered to carry out Ihe collection, nnd r-omo will canvass huuscs, while others will work the streets in town throughout the day and evening. The splendid object for which tho funds are to bo raised will readily appeal to everyone, and it is hoped *.h.« the public will be found in a. generous frame of mind. Friday is French "Tricolor Day," and it is to mark this occasion that collections will be held through.l;'; Ne-.v Zealand on Friday or Saturday. ftvery oicans of raising money will be very acceptable to the promoters. It Is hoped to arrange with the picture theatre proprietors to receive a donation from their proceeds on Saturdav, while an auction of a French flag will probably be held, Amongst other lli'ugs there will be a novel feature in the form of "a patriotic fish mart." Mr. J. Brough (of Moturoa), and his partner have offered seventy-five per cent, of their catch on Saturday morning, Mr. Smith (Devon Street) will give twentyfive per cent of his* catch, other fishermen will contribute quotas, while private parties will go out fishing in the early hours of Saturday. Mr. Haflrv HelVord has generously offered this use of his motor-car to the amateur fishermen. The party in. charge of these arrangements make no guarantee, but all being well ''patriotic" fish will be on sale from 8 or 9 o'clock; ou Saturday niorn-
