SANITARY CORPS FORMED. ANOTHER GOVERNMENT GAMBLE, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Cabinet hag agreed to tho formation of a Sanitary Corps in connection with lhe New Zealand forces. This 'Corpa, which will go forward with the J3th .'{einforeements, will consist of An officer, two sergeants, and 25 men, who will have certain special qualifications and will be employed at work connected with the sanitation of .camps, and the preservation of the health of trtops. The Recruiting Board has fo apply the ballot system to men' who enlist on the understanding that they may be called up at fourteen day's notice and are classified into the groups already indicated. When the Defence Department wants a certain number «of men from one of the groups, taking r.liem in their order, the «rea officers will ballot the names of all the Ql*u available. OUT WITH HIM. COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS' CLUB Wellington, last Xight. The tone of the meeting held at the Commercial Travellers' Club to-day was (intensely Imperial, and as an outcome nn '"All for Empire League" was forined. A resolution carried was as follows! "That this meeting of members of the Wellington Commercial Travellers' Astociation cordially endorses the action luken by the delegates at the conference )f the United Travellers and Warehousedieu'e Association, held at Cirislchureb on February 10, and appro*c* of lb* formation of an All for Empire League, its outlined in the Empire leaflet No. 1, Heeling sure that it is in the best interests of the country and the Empi-e. It fi-jll necessitate the elimination of enemy trade and influence from our midtt, and this meeting pledges itself to use every possible endeavor in furthering the objects of tlie League, and undertake heartily to support any representative .lommittee that may be set up to take .barge of the movement."
The resolution was the outcome of (lit nction taken by the recent Commercial Travellers' Conference at C'liristehnu-h. Die objects of the league, as one gentleman present described them, are expressed In the words: "Out with the Vierman trader." PIN PRICKS. WHAT FEILDINf! Councillors will be asked to canvaas their own ridings. An honorary recruiting officer was at the meeting, and others there expressed the opinion that the Government were the greatest shirkers. They had national registration cards, and why not follow them up themselves instead of asking others to do the woil? I
