i Our Own Correspondent.); I Inglewood, Yesterday. The Tennis and Croquet Club he'd a most successful tournament on Thursday, in aid of the Red Cross I'lind. The weather was ideal and the atiendar.ee very good, the result Ileitis that the funds benefit to the extent of about X 5. Miss Brown and Mrs. Roberts won the croquet prizes, and in the tennis competitions some very close games were witnessed. Mrs. Matthews and Mks Crawford won the ladies' doubles: Mrs. Ilynes and Mr. YV. Armstrong the combined doubles; and Messrs Messenger and Patcrson the men's doubles. The credit of bringing the tournament to such a successful isssue is due to the untiring efforts of Mr. Wag'staff, who is stimulating tennis generally in a very marked degree. On Saturday (to-day) the Eed Cross Mart will again be open and the ladies are expecting good business. The 2 1 / 2 -years-o)d son of Mr. J. Rowe died very suddenly on Thursday. The child was in the best of health on Wednesday, but an attack of convulsions on Thursday was responsible for the sad ending.
