FEATHERSTON CAMP

BICIiNESS NOT SERIOUSTATEMENT BY THE MINISTER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. "There is nothing wrong with the water or with the food," said the Minister for Defence when the outbreak of gastric trouble at Featherston Camp was mentioned to him by a reporter to-day. "The water was carefully examined before the men moved into the camp, and it has been examined again within the last few days. It is pure and wholesome. Between 120 and 150 men were sick for a few days, but 80 of them were well again quickly and there is no reason to believe that the trouble is of a serious character. It arises, I think, from the hot weather experienced lately."
