WAR PENSIONS.
FORTY-TWO CASES DEALT WITH. REPRESENTING £25,205 A YEAR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At its last meeting the War Pensions Board dealt, with 42 cases, 14 from soldiers and 25 from dependants. Six soldiers were granted pensions totalling £338 per annum, seven were granted temporary allowances representing £IBB, and one application was declined. Of the dependants 2;! were granted pensions and 5 applications were adjourned. Of the six pensions granted four were for .CI a week, one for 35s a week, and one for 15s. One of the dependants was the mother of a lieutenant, and she was granted £1 a week. Another was the wife of a private, who got £65 a year for herself and £l3 for eacli of her four children. Up to the present the Board lias dealt with 318 soldiers and 538 dependants, as follows:
Soldiers: Granted pensions 1!), granted allowances 128, oa rejected, 17 adjourned, and 3!) awaiting the Board. Dependants: Granted pensions 403, granted allowances 3, 38 were rejected, 0 adjourned, and 25 are awaiting the Board.
The 5G2 pensioners will be paid annually £25,205. In addition the 131 allowances represent the payment of £3547,
