A FATAL FALL.

srOTOR LORRY ACCIDENT WOMAN LOSES HER LIFE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hastings, Last Night. A motor lorry accident occurred at Poukawa this afternoon, whereby Mrs. J, A. Newrick, of Otane, lost her life, and her daughter, aged three years, had a foot badly crushed. They were returning to Otane from Hastings with a load of benzine. When passing Poukawa the accelerator stuck, and Mr. Newrick, stopping down to release it, allowed the lorry to run off the road. There was a slight jolt, sufficient to throw Mrs. Newrick and child off the lorry, and the fall broke the unfortunate woman's neck. A case of benzine fell on the child's foot.
