FITZROY SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of tho Pitzrey School Committee was held on Wednesday evening, the following being present:—Messrs W. G. Reid (chairman), Jones, Aroa, G. S. White, W. IT. Griffiths, and Arden. The members expressed their pleasure at Mr, White's presence, and hoped he would have improved health. The chairman's action in having the playground re-tarred and sanded was confirmed, and it was decided to have a load of sand on hand for minor repairs. The secretary was requested to convey to Misses Gulliver and Peach, whose term of apprenticeship had expired, the committee's appreciation of their services as teachers at the school. A vote of thanks was accorded to the donors of special prizes.

It was decided to ask the turncock to notify the committee when the water supply is being cut off.

The headmaster reported that the roll number on the re-assembling of the school was 159—the same as for the previous quarter. The class-rooms had been so thoroughly attended to by the caretaker during the vacation that they were models of cleanliness. Several minor repairs were required, and paper baskets for the class-rooms were asked for.
