The Echo de Paris says that the latest Roumanian information indicates that the situation is developing towards intervention. M. Bratianu maintains Neutrality with difficulty. Ropie, Feb. 9. H Corriere della Sera believes Germany is preparing a sudden blow on Roumania. It is therefore necessary that the Entente should counteract the German movement, and Roumania must fee able to reckon on all assistance. INFLUENCE OF RUSSIA. gOME RECENT SUCCESSES!, Received Feb. 10, 11.45 p.m. : London, Feb. 10. The newspapers, discussing the German pressure on Roumania, give prominence to'the Russian capture of Ufccieczka and t&en crossing to the west of the DneMer. The Russians have been for a eojuiderable time near a village which is forty 'miles north of Czernovitz. • The Morning Post's military correspondent states that Russia's possession of the Dneister makes the Austrian position at B-. *-ovina untenable. He adds: "The valley of the iPruth, owing to the absence of natural obstacles, offers the Otet line of advance. If the Russians wsak through in Bukowina the AustroGennan defences in Galicia will be outranked and, probably abandoned." THE SALONIKA CAMPAIGN. 4UID TO BE ABANDONED, Received Feb. 10, 5,5 pjn. Athens, Feb. 9. Some circles affirm that the AustroGermans have temporarily abandoned the campaign against Salonika, and aTe directing all their efforts on the Italian front and against the British in Flanden, hoping to obtain some success calculated to influence neutrals.
POSITION OF ALBANIA. COMPLETING THE EVACUATION. Reecived Feb, 10, 9.5 p.m. Paris, Feb. 10. Le Petit Parisien says that 65,000 Serbians have landed at Corfu, and the ftfenjth will reach 100,000 within a of days. The evacuation of Albania will then be completed. French detachments have occupied the fireek iiland of Fano, north of Corfu.
