Stocks are heavy, and it is stated that there are one hundred thousand crates of Australian and New Zealand rabbits in the cold store here. Australian blues are from 21s to 22s in store. Many complaints have been made that recent arrivals are badly graded, both in size and quality. Sheep—Australian, light 7y 4 d. heavy 7d. Beef—Australian chilled, hind.? ItyA, Other meats are unchanged.

WHEAT AND WOOL London, Feb. 0. Whcnt.—Firm and dear owing to Continental inquiries; Australian wheat, due ,in March, sold at 70s. Wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom, 1.7G5.000 quarters; tor ithe Continent, 3,040,000 quarters; Atlantic shipments are 050,000 quarters; Pacific, 2000; total for Europe, 1,205,000 quarters; Argentine, 74,000 quarters.

Wool.—The sales closed at top rates; sold for home market, 00,000 bales; for the Continent, 15,000; United States 200; held over. 5000. Compared with December, best scoured Merinos advanced 2d, medium 2d, and faulty 2d to 3d; choicest greasy advanced about 5 per cent., medium to common 75 per cent, to 10 per cent.; best crossbreds advanced Id, common 10 percent. Slipes were in keen demand at 2d and 3d advance; crossbred lambs 2d and Merinos 10 per cent, advance.

The inosit remarkable feature was the absence of excitement during a boom which was almost dangerous. Prices have been paid with the fullest confidence. This is probably due to consumers being full with orders and enjoying a good margin of profit. Tt is becoming increasingly evident that the consumption of wool here is proceeding at an unparalleled rate.
