RAHOTU.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) On Tuesday, a social evening was tendered to Private Darcy Penwarden and Private Ken Andrews, who were here on furlongli, and they were presented with a fountain pen and wristlet watch respectively, Messrs Candish and T. Hughson, Jnr., were asked by the chairman, Mr. T. P. Hughson, to make the presentations. Supper was provided by the ladies, and the young people cleared the hall for dancing. Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Hughson and some of their family have returned from a short visit to' Wellington and Wanganui. *Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Wrighl are now away on a holiday at Wanganui. The Church of England harvest thanksgiving service is to be held on Sunday flth, and the customary gift auction and concert will follow during the, week. Mr. A. D. Feilder is back again visiting in the district. Mr. E. Maxwell and family are camping up at the Mountain I'ouse, on the Kahni Road, and other pari.-s are talking of soir.g up too should the weather keep warm.
