The committees appointed for the carrying out of the carnival which is taking place shortly met Inst evening for the purpose of drawing out a programme for each of the three days. The procession is to take place on the opening day, commencing at 2 p.m., and the horticultural show is to be held in the afternoon. The evening will be occupied with various lorms of entertainment. A procession, starting at 2 p.m., headed by the Darktown Brigade, will commence Friday's entertainment, and is to ho followed by a sports programme, with various entertainments during the evening. Saturday's chief attraction will be tlio fantv costumn cricket match, in addition to which schools are being asked to enter teams for Swedish drill and other competitions. The Waitara Municipal Band will render a programme of muaie on each day of the carnival. The email charges of 3d and 6d are to bq made for admission to the grounds. A farewell social is to be held in the Clifton Hall on Friday evening to those leaving on Monday next to join the 13th Reinforcements. The public a*-, cqjj'frally invited to be present.
