SOLDIERS RETURNING
TWO SHIPS THIS WEEK* TARANAKI MEN ON THE TOFUA, A total of 398 members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force will return to tlie Dominion at the beginning of this week. The number comprises 12 officers, 3 non-commissioned officers, and 373 men and 10 nurses. The second contingent of the men invalided home after hospital treatment in England is being brought back by the steamer Rotorua, which is expected to arrive at Auckland on Wednesday. It comprises six officers, two non-com-missioned officers, and 195 men, a total of 203. The Willoehra arrived at Port Chalmers on Saturday with a contingent of 195, comprising 6 officers, 1 non-commissioned officer, 178 men and 10 nurses. The names of the Taranaki men on the steamers have already been published. A number of men on the . Willoehra missed the steamer at Albany, and are returning by the Tofua, which is due at Dunedin to-day. Taranaki men on the Tofua are David J. Poynton, son of Mr. Theo. Poynton, of Hawera, and Michael Scanlon, son of Mr. T. Scanlon, of Te Kiri.
