ANNUAL MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 28. At the opening of the annual meeting of the New Zealand Institute the Hon. Mr. Russell said in realised the importance attached to the development of , scientific research in the Dominion. One of the failures in this respect was due to a large extent to the insignificant part taken in scientific work by the Dominion Museum. He had, when previously Minister, had plans prepared for the erection of a building for a museum and art gallery on the present site, but the scheme was abandoned. , He would endeavour to get the Government to approve that scheme and have a start made with the erection of the building.
