LAND BALLOT.
TARANAKI SECTIONS. A ballot for sections in the'Taranaki district was held at Taumaruiiui, on Monday, Utii inst. Altogether 5388 acres were offered, in areas varying from six acres to 744 acres. 660 applications were received for 25 sections, and all the land was selected, except Section 12, block X, To'l'oro. One discharged soldier, who had preference with married men with dependents, was successful in drawing a section. Section 0, 4 acres 2 roods, upset £9O, sold at £ll2 to Jas. Gamble.
Section 10, 4 acres, upset £SO, sold at £9O to W. J. Pendray.
Section 11, 2 acres 3 roods 11 perches, upset £55, sold at £B2 to Jas. Carmicliacl.
