ROTORUA COACH ACCIDENT.

A CHAPTER OP MISHAPS. FURTHER DETAILS. ',. By Telegraph.—Press Associatisn. Piotorua, Jan. 24. A serious accident took place on Sunday evening to a party returning fron a fishing excursion aft Tarawera, consisting of the Hon. Thos. Thompson, M.L.C., W. Waddell, engaged at the Governnient baths, C. R. Tapper, licensee of the Palace Hotel, and his son Jack. The party had a double-seated buggy and a pair of horses. At Tititapu Flit the horses took fright and one of tie pole straps broke, striking heavily upon the near horse. The horses galloped up the long rise round dangerous curves, eventually striking one of the inner banks and hurling the whole party into :ihe road. Jack Tapper was the only one who escaped injuries. The sufferers were attended by Dr. Bertram, and are all in a private hospital. Mr. Thompson had two arms broken, ami was severely shaken. It is believed that some of his ribs are broken. Mr. Waddell had a broken arm and Tapper a badly-sprained knee. After the occupants of the buggy had been thrown out the horses continued their career, and met Mr. Roberts, clerk of the court, riding a horse, and his son on a pony. The latter was thrown, sustaining a broken srni.
