The Government is negotiating for the purchase of four coal mines in the Ipswich district, involving an expenditure of £75,000. WHEAT EXPORTS. Melhourne, Jan. 25. A conference of Ministers of Agriculture is discussing the wheat pooling scheme. Mr. Hagelthorn stated that he was supplying the Allies with 200,000 tons of wheat or its flour equivalent. He expected to export 72,000 tons of flour vvithin three months. PETROLEUM IN PAPUA. Melbourne, Jan. 25. Dr. Wade, the Government oil expert, has departed for Papua to report on the oilfields. The Government has decided to train its own drillers, instead of importing them from Canada.
