SEASIDE PSORT, The function to be held at Kawaroa Park on Thursday afternoon, next and inaugurated by the Wo/.ien's Patriotic Committee for the purpose of buying materials for the comfort of our boys at the front, promises to be a pleasant afternon's cuting. The Park is eminently suitable for gatherings of ithis kind. The Kawaroa Park Society at its Inst meeting willingly placed the grounds, the bungalow, and all appurtenances at the disposal of the League for the af f.:-.ri:oon. At the same meeting, which was veil attended, the report of the delegates *o the meeting of the Citizens' Patriotic Committee to discuss the projected beach gala on tram opening day, was received. The Patriotic Committee having handed over all arrangements to the Carnival Committee a seaside picnic under the management of the combined beach committees will therefore Kpse. Two Park gatherings which were being arranged have been postponed in order not to clash with the Battle of the Bullion Carnival period. The usual Easter Monday sports and picnic will bii held and arrangements commenced for tiie success thereof. The Ladies' Committee of the Park, who are under the supervision of Mrs. Oliver, have been supplying afternoon tea in the bungalow during the holidays, reported splendid business. Visitors to, and former residents of this town, Were delighted at the facilities' in this respect amidst such exquisite surroundings.
