Mr, Hughes' appeal is causing heartburning at Broken Hill. The men declare that under the excuse of patriotism he is seeking to force them to make further sacrifices, They are willing to resume work if the court sits immediately, but will not wait for a decision till Mr. Hughes returns from England. - UNMARRIED SLACKERS Sydney, Jan. 24. It is officially stated that a number of single men are systematically dodging recruiting appeals and. shifting their addresses. Further action is threatened. ALLIES' DAY. Sydney, Jan. 24. The Government has agreed to subsidise pound for pound the Allies' Day subscriptions during February.
