Tlie Stratford Borough Council held a special meeting this evening to consider the electric light proposals, "and also the sanitary inspection of the town. The State Advances Olliee wrote to the effect that the Governor would give his consent to the raising of a "loan of £)(i,()0fl for the lighting scheme. It was decided to inform the Electrical Supply Company that the Borough solicitor had been instructed to complete negotiations for the purchase of the company's undertaking, subject to the ratepayer's lonsent. The Secretary to the Hospital Board wrote ye the urgent inspection of the Borough, and after a long discussion decided that after the asphalt footpath in Broadway has been completed the Borough engineer should make an inspection of all business premises in the town, and report at next genera l •---*- iug.
