SPACE FOR MEAT SHIPMENTS.
A CALL PROM AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association, 'Auckland, 'Jan. 21. A telegram with reference to the .meat space allotments for Auckland has been received from the Prime Minister by Major Lusk, vice-president of the Farmers' Union. Mr Massey states that he lias consulted the Overseas .Shipping Committee, and that it has been arranged lor-the Corinthie, to take 2000 more carcases titan was intended; also that the Tainui, which had not been going to call at Auckland, would load 12,000 here on or about January 2S. It had been hoped, lie adds, that the indrapura. shortly due at Auckland, would he able to load frozen meat simultaneously with her unloading operations, but this was not" now possible. "This means," said Major Lnsk, "that we are to have space for 10,. r >oo carcases instead of 23.000 carcases, but. even so. we are getting much less than our share. Auckland has not been treated fairly in the past, and we cannot stand that for ever/'
