- 'A TURKISH COJfMUNIQLiJ, •Received Jan. 19, 5.40 p.m. London, Jan. 18. Constantinople reports: There is no important change on the Kut-el-Amara front. Artillery destroyed an enemy monitor that was sighted at Slieikshird. Our troops in the Caucasus are offering heroic resistance to the attacks which the enemy are delivering with superior forces between the Aras river and Arasid. Violent snowstorms continue.
FROM THE WEST FRONT. Received Jan. 19, 9.55 p.m. London, Jan. 19. General Haig reports: We exploded a mine near Frieourt, destroying a large portion of the parapets. Tlie enemy suffered considerably by the explosion and the bombardment which followed. AN ITALIAN MESSAGE. GERMAN TRENCHES WRECKED. Received Jan. 20, 1.10 a.m. Rome, Jan. 19. A communique states: Our aviators bombed Volano, in Lagarina, valley, where are the, headquarters of the Austrian force, and prevented the- enemy's attempt to raid the lower Isonzo. iParis, Jan. 19. A communique, says: Between the Oise and the Aisne our batteries wrecked the German trenches in the region of Moulin and Sous-tous-vent.
