LAND FOR SETTLEMENT. Hy Cable.—Press Association—Copyright Sydney,, Jan. 18. Mr. Ashford, Minister for Lands, anticipates opening two to three million acres for settlement during the year. . STRIKE DELEGATES' BAD EECEPTTON. Adelaide, Jan. 18. The mission of Barrier delegates 'lo elicit sympathy with the Broken Hill strike was a complete failure. Two centres were visited, but refused to strike. The delegates had a hostile reception, and were forced to shelter on board a steamer. They were greeted with cries of "German spies."
