ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FOUND DROWNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Jan. 14. At the inquest concerning the death of Mark wick Ashdown Sivyer, whose body was recovered from a waterhole in a creel; at Swanson. it was stated thai deceased left tho following note: —"Find me at Freeman's Bridge— Mark." A vord/cl was returned that deceased was found drowned under cir-cum-tances pointing to suicide. A FARMER'S SUICIDE. Carlerton. Last Nisht. William Charles Zahel. aged 43 years, a dairy farmer, committed suicide by shooting himself on Saturday night. He leaves a wife and five children. WELL-KNOWN BUILDER'S DEATH. Wellington. Last Night. Mr. Henry Gray, of the contract in;,' firm of McLean and Gray, who are now building the new Club Hotel on LambSon Quay, died last evening as the re--nit of an accident on the job. Just before noon, apparently, while Gray was slandiua on the ground a small pinch bar fell from the third floor a clUance. of about 40 feet, and si nick hint on the lop of the head, penetrating about three inches. He was picked up in a few ini'.mtes and medical aid was summoned, but though an operation was perforin >d he sank and died. Deceased was a native of the Orkney Island, and was about 40 years old. He leaves a widow and three youn; children, His firm, in the last fourteen years, have carried out a number of important works. They built the Union Company's workshops at Evans' Bay, the out-patients' building at Wellington Hospital, and seven drill halls for the Defence Department in various parts of the Dominion.
