STRATFORD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Sratford, Yesterday. Hie Stratford Domain Board held their monthly meeting -vJiis afternoon. Present: Messrs G. N. Curtis (chairman), T. H. Penn, P. Thomson, W. P. Kirkwood, R. Mck. Morison, A long discussion took place on the matter of allowing tenants of the Board's lands leased to them, and the opinion expressed was that the tenants should be compelled to sow the land that was cropped in. proper grasses, and to the satisfaction of the Board. It was thought, however, that in order to protect the Board, tenants should pay the Board the estimated cost of sowing, and the Board would do the work itself. A motion to this effect was carried. It was decided to appoint Mr. .1. Dodd in charge of Victoria Park to regulate the grazing rights. At the S.M. Court this morning, before Mr. W. R. Haselden, S.M., C. Buchanan, a baker, was summoned for having left his employers, Kerr and Co., without notice. The Inspector of Awards (Mr. J. F. Arnold) appeared for the Department. Defended was fined £2 and costs ss.
