LAND BOARD.
THE MONTHLY MEETING The Taranaki Land Board met yesterday. Present: Mr. G. 11. Bullard (Commissioner), in the chair, and Messrs A. Coxhead and John Heslop. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. The following applications for land were dealt with:— Section 25, block 3, Piopiotea West, 12ac. Ir. '3lp., 0.R.P., Harry Church.— Confirmed. Section 29, block 14, Ohura, 30 acres (cash), J. Peivvy.—Recommended for approval. APPLICATIONS FOR FEE SIMPLE, The following applications for the fee simple were approved:—Section 3, block 5, and section 10, block 6, Pouatu, 978 acres, .section 211, block 6, Pouatu, 4-20 acres, Gordon Edwin Anderson; section 4, block 7, Mahoe, 463 acres, Walter Rogers; section 2, block 13. Waro, 950 acres, section 3. block 1, Pauatu, 892 acres, Duncan Biirrell Stevens.
TRANSFERS AND SUBLEASES. The following transfers and sub-leases were approved':—Section '27, block 15, Ngatimaru, ]99ac. 3r. 20p., C. M. Snow to S. Bellamy; Section 5, block 10, Upper Waitara, 387 ac. 2r., A. H. Jones to W. Jones. The application for section 114.1, New Plymouth, 1 rood, C. Carter to A. G. Mason, was confirmed, Section 4, block 5, Waro, 505 acres, section 10. block 9,-367 acres, A. V. and H. H. Sehwieters to E. C. Philpot, was approved, subject to transferee divesting himself of land held at present. Sections 18, 20, 04, 105, 10, 02, 23, C 7, block 1, Mahoe S.D., Ellen Perrott to Annie Wright, were approved, subject to transferor reducing the consideration money by £350. Mr. J. C. Nicholson appeared and asked for a rehearing in connection with an application for transfer from R. Kent to 11. L. Lewis of section -5, block 9, Waro, dealt with at the August meeting and approved conditionally.—lt was resoved to rescind the previous resolution and approve the transfer unconditionally.
GENERAL. The following proposals for expedituro of accrued thirds were approved, subject to satisfactory report from the rangers:—Clifton Countv Council, £328 13s 2d: Waitara Road (Board, £2l 10s lOd: Motiiroa Road Board, £1 13s lOd. \Y. G. Curtis, lessee of O.R.P. section 3, block 3, Piopiotea West, 243 acres, applied to have the section forfeited.— Granted. The iPostmaster, Urenui, reported that J. \V. Orbell refused to sign his renewable lease of section G, Block 5, Pouatu, 970 acres.—Forfeited. The application of the Taranaki Fanners' Meat Co., Ltd., for the. fee simple of sections 14-2 and 143, Hua district, block- 0, Paritutu S.D., provision for which is nrade in section 42 of the Reserves Empowering Act, 1915, was approved at the price fixed. Mrs. A. Sliivnan, lessee of O.R.P. section 24. block 11, Mapara, 118 acres, applied for exemption from residence on account of ill-health.—Refused, the lessee to reside within three months or transfer to an eligible person. C. M. Richardson, lessee of R.L. section 4, block .12, Ohu'ra S.'D., 097 acres, applied for exemption from residence, as he has enlisted for active service abroad. —Granted 12 months' exemptioa from residence, the application for rental remission to be adjourned. The. Board, in committee,, dealt with an application for consent to mortgage, and eight applications for postponement of collection of rent, for varying perjods, and made certain recommendations according to the circumstances of each case.
