DISCIPLINE OF RECRUITS. THE XEW REGULATIONS. Sydney, Jan. 11. Since the new regulations came into force there lias been a great improvement in the discipline of recruit?. The absence of rowdiiicss and drunkenness in tile streets is accompanied by heavier enlistments, with a "rowing' proportion of mature men who have been hanging back. NEW SOUTH WALES WAR LOAN. CLERKS UNDECEIVED. Sydney, Jan. 11. The State War Committee is issuing an urgent appeal for support of the war loan. Melbourne, -Jan. 11. Many clerks who have obtained promises that if thev enlist their positions will be kept open lor them are merely enlisting for home defence. Mr. Peacock states that the promise does not apply to men not leaving 1 Australia.
