BUTTER RIOT.

GERMAN WOMEN RAID "DAIRIES. According .to the. Amsterdam, correspondent of an English exchange, a demonstration, in which more than IiOO women took part, was held m. front of the premises of the Dairy Produce Company, in the Forststrassc, at Chemnitz, to protest against the high pvice of butter. While' one of the spokeswomen was loudly giving vent to her grievances, eight' men, armed with whips, emerged from the building, and endeavoured to disperse the crowd. The demonstrators thereupon hurled their milk bottles and jugs at the men, who had to heat a hurried retreat. Other demonstrations were held in front of the offices of Ihe "Volksstimme," and numbers of dairy establishments had their windows smashed, i Final!v, the town authorities confiscated the whole available stock of butter.
