A SOLDIER'S SUICIDE.
CORONER'S RECOMMENDATION 1 , By Telegraph.—Press Aiiocltttmv Dunedin, Last Nitht. * An, inque6t was held to-day regarding the death of William Jolin Willis, one of the men who returned ty the Maheno on f>th iivat., .and who committed suicide at Dunedin by cutting his throat. The evidence showed that deceased was tatfering from dysentery, but the case w«» not a bad one. The patient was cheery and gave no evidence of mental trouble. The razor was in a lockor at his' bedside, where hospital authorities said it was customary to keep toilet articles. , The Coroner, Hir. J. R, Bartholomew, S.M., said that he could not qualify the verdict found that deceased had committed suicide by cutting his throat, and recommended that the hospital authorities take into question the matter o» removing dangerous articles from th,' bedsides of patients, thereby rcmoviir temptation.
