Stratford, Jan. 8. The sensation is still the principal topic.

The first meeting of the delegates to the Taranaki Patriotic Association Centre will take place on Friday next, at 10 a.m. At the Egmont Club last evening, a farewell was tendered to the men leaving with the next Reinforcements There wis a fair attendance of men and public and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves. During the evening speeches were made bv his Worship the Mayor Mr. J. B. Hiiic, M.P., Mr: W. P. Kirkwood, while Mr. .T. Masters welcomed the guests on behalf of the Club.- The Club's orchestra, under the baton of Mr P.. Cottier, rendered some fine items, while songs were given by Captain Wilson and Lieut. Grey.
